The Quadrivalent flu vaccine is now available: It is not too early to get your flu shot. The CDC recommends getting vaccinated as soon as possible as it takes several weeks to build up the antibodies. The shot does not wear off, and the benefits last the entire flu season until next summer. All children, pregnant women and adults of all ages are recommended to get the flu shot. Those who are older than 65, have chronic conditions such as asthma, diabetes, lung or heart disease are especially at risk for influenza and secondary conditions such as pneumonia and should get vaccinated immediately to insure protection. Allergy season is here: Remember to change your air conditioning filters and consider keeping your windows closed for the next few weeks in the case of severe allergies. Fresh air has a heavy concentration of pollen and other allergens.
School and sports physicals: Appointments are booking up so be sure to schedule these appointments for you children as soon as possible. In order to guarantee that the physical forms are completed on time, schedule well in advance of the deadline on the forms.
Memory and cognitive screenings now available: We are offering comprehensive 30 minute evaluations for memory and cognitive screenings. These screenings are covered by medicare and most commercial insurance plans, and they can identify early signs of memory loss and determine risks for dementia. Aortic Aneurysm screenings now available on site: This screening is covered by most insurance plans. It is an important preventative ultrasound exam for patients over 50 years old with the following risk factors:

The specialized ultrasound screening is painless and typically takes less than a minute.
