Car Buying New Cars Used Cars Auctions Leasing Loans

Car Auction Hammer

The best car auctions are dealer-only auctions operated by firms such as Manheim and Adesa. These auto auction companies operate wholesale vehicle auctions in major metropolitan areas across the United States and Canada.

At dealer auctions, car dealers purchase a large percentage of the cars that they sell on their used-car lots. The profits they make on these cars are often far greater than their profits on new car sales. A dealer may buy a late model automobile at auction and mark it up 50 or even 100 percent! New-car markups, on the other hand, are often 5 to 10 percent over the manufacturer invoice price.

At these efficiently run, dealer-only auctions, cosmetic and mechanical condition reports are provided for most auctioned vehicles. Dealers expect these vehicle condition reports to provide accurate, detailed, unvarnished information. They rely on these reports and the integrity of the dealer-only auction firms to make sound car buying decisions.

Unfortunately, access to a wholesale dealers’ auction is only available to licensed car dealers. Auto auctions that are open to the public may be labeled Public, Government, Insurance, or Charity auctions. Purchasing a vehicle at these auctions involves a greater degree of risk. They are often patronized by people who know cars well or have access to a low cost repair facility. At most public car auctions, attendees can walk around the vehicles, open their doors, note their odometer mileages, and open their hoods, trunks, and tailgates. In most cases, potential buyers are not permitted to drive the cars or even start their engines.

Full payment is normally required immediately after a successful bid. Vehicles are sold “as is”, sales are final, and no warranty is provided. If you insist on purchasing a car at such an auction, be sure you have the expertise to identify signs of water damage, accident damage, or poor maintenance. Ideally, bring along a trained auto mechanic or auto body expert who can spot such problems.

Use the directory menu above to find dealer-only and public auto auctions in each state of the United States and the District of Columbia.

About Public Auctions

Some cheap car auctions are only for car dealers, but the general public can participate in our public auto auction. This type of auction is different from government state auto auctions and city public auto auctions. It gives everyone an equal opportunity to purchase a used vehicle at a discounted, public auto sales price.

Auto public auctions are held on a regular basis across the United States. You can find one anywhere from Los Angeles to Georgia, and many even offer on-site and online bidding options and give you the opportunity to get information about the cars in a catalog before you bid on them. This can help you to make a well-informed decision about what car to buy. Some public auctions sites even offer test drives for the cars that interest you.

You should educate yourself about public auto auctions in Georgia and how they function before actually participating in one. This will help prevent you from making regretful car buying decisions. Most public auctions do not let you return a car once you are accepted as the highest bidder, so make sure you fully understand the proper procedures and participant expectations of vehicle auction you are attending before bidding.

Buying at Public Car Auctions:

Check out our valuable tips to keep in mind when buying a vehicle at local car auctions in Georgia :

  • Browse the public auto auction catalog ahead of time to decide which cars interest you. Some Carolina local car auction sites allow you to visit in advance to look over or test drive vehicles.
  • Know the public auction sites terms and conditions. Knowing the standards can save you money and hassle in the future. Check in with the local car auction house to find out what you need to bring to the auction . if you will have to pay a buyer s premium, proper bidding protocol, the types of payments that are accepted, and whether there is a grace period or return if the car ends up to be less than advertised.
  • Run a Vehicle History Report on any vehicles in which you re interested. Make sure to double-check that the title is clean, not rebuilt or falsified. Also, check that the description the seller gave of the vehicle is accurate.
  • Make sure to arrive early. Register as a bidder, find a good seat in clear sight of the auctioneer, and inspect any vehicles you are interested in purchasing one last time.
  • Don t spend any more than what you are prepared to spend before the auto auction begins. Don t get caught in a bidding war once the auction starts.
  • If you are the highest bidder, then you will want to settle your payment with the public auto auction clerk as soon as possible. You may be at risk of breaking a legal contract and may be charged additional fees, if you don t pay in time.

Some of these tips apply only to on-site bidding, but many apply to bidding on online public car auctions. If you bid online instead of attending the Carolina public auction site. you may need to register as a bidder in advance. Print out the public auction schedule so you can plan on what vehicles to bid. Bidding on an online public auto auction website gives you the added benefit of flexibility. Make sure to research ahead of time. Like all public auctions. be careful not to get caught up in an online bidding war. Decide your limits ahead of time and don t surpass them!

    CTE Model Curriculum Standards

Career Technical Education Standards for California Public Schools

Education Code Section 51226 provides legal authority to develop the CTE standards and framework. This legislation requires the development and adoption of CTE standards that incorporate the integration of career technical and academic education no later than June 1, 2005. The original CTE Model Curriculum Standards were adopted by the State Board of Education (SBE) on May 11, 2005. The standards, written for grades seven through twelve, specify learning goals in 58 career pathways organized around 15 industry sectors.

The California State Plan for Career Technical Education, A BRIDGE TO THE FUTURE 2008 2012, approved by the State Board of Education in May 2008, provides guidance for California s CTE programs in California. The State Plan states, CTE programs are dynamic; curricula need to stay current with rapid changes in the workplace, requiring ongoing updates and learning on the part of CTE faculty. The adoption of the English Language Arts and Mathematics Common Core State Standards furthered the need to revise and align the CTE Standards with this new academic core.

Commencing in May 2011, 117 individuals representing secondary and post-secondary education and business and industry met to review the 2005 standards and make recommendations for improvement. Following the May 2011 meeting, industry sector meetings were held to develop the revised CTE standards based on the recommendations. Subsequently, the revised CTE Standards were share with the general public for public review, comment, and suggestions. Once the CTE Standards were revised, academic and CTE teachers collaborated on the alignment with the Common Core State Standards, Next Generation Science Core Ideas, and the History/Social Science Standards. The newly revised CTE Model Curriculum Standards designed to prepare students to be both Career and College ready were adopted by the SBE on January 16, 2013.

10 Things You Should Know About Buying Long-Term Care Insurance

Long-Term Care is Different From Traditional Medical Care
Someone with a prolonged physical illness, a disability or a cognitive impairment such as Alzheimer s disease often needs long-term care. Long-term care services may include help with daily activities, home health care, respite care, hospice care, adult day care, care in a nursing home or care in an assisted living facility.

    Long-Term Care Can be Expensive
The cost depends on the amount and type of care you need and where you get it. In 2001, the national average cost of nursing home care was $56,000 per year, assisted living facilities reported $22,476 per year and home care costs ranged from $12,000 to $16,000 per year.

You Have Options When Paying for Long-Term Care
People pay for long-term care in a variety of ways. These include using personal resources, long-term care insurance and Medicaid for those who qualify. Medicare, Medicare supplement insurance and health insurance you may have at work usually will not pay for long-term care. Long-term care insurance will pay for some or all of your long-term care.

Decide Whether Long-Term Care Insurance is for You
Whether you should buy a long-term care insurance policy will depend on your age, health status overall retirement goals, income and assets. For instance, if your only source of income is a Social Security benefit or Supplemental Security Income (SSI), you probably should not buy long-term care insurance since you may not be able to afford the premium. On the other hand, if you have a large amount of assets but do not want to use them to pay for long-term care, you may want to buy a long-term care insurance policy. Many people buy a policy because they want to stay independent of government aid or the help of family. They don t want to burden anyone with having to care for them. However, you should not buy a policy if you can t afford the premium or are not sure you can pay the premium for the rest of your life.

    Pre-Existing Condition Limitations
A long-term care insurance policy usually defines a pre-existing condition as one for which you received medical advice or treatment or had symptoms within a certain period before you applied for the policy. Some companies look further back in time than others. Many companies will sell a policy to someone with a pre-existing condition. However, the company may not pay benefits for long-term care related to that condition for a period after the policy goes into effect, usually six months. Some companies have longer pre-existing condition periods or none at all.

Know Where to Look for Long-Term Care Insurance
Long-term care insurance is available to you in several different forms. You can buy an individual policy from a private insurance company or agent, or you can buy coverage under a group policy through an employer or association membership. The federal government and several state governments offer long-term care insurance coverage to their employees, retirees and their families. You can also get long-term care benefits through a life insurance policy. Some states have long-term care insurance programs designed to help people with the financial impact of spending down to meet Medicaid eligibility standards. Check with your state insurance department or counseling program to see if these policies are available in your state.

Check With Several Companies and Agents
Contact several companies and agents before you buy a long-term care policy. Be sure to compare benefits, the types of facilities covered, limits on your coverage, what is not covered and the premium. Policies from different insurance companies often have the same coverage and benefits but may not cost the same. Be sure to ask companies about their rate increase history and whether they have increased the rates on the long-term care insurance policies.

Don t be Misled by Advertising
Most celebrity endorsers are professional actors paid to advertise, not insurance experts. It is also important to note that Medicare does not endorse or sell long-term care insurance policies, so be wary of advertising that suggests Medicare is involved. Do not trust cards you get in the mail that look like official government documents until you check with the government agency identified on the card.

Make Sure the Insurance Company is Reputable
To help you find out if an insurance company is reliable, you can take the following actions: Stop before you sign anything, call your state insurance department and confirm that the insurance company is licensed to do business in your state. After you make sure they are licensed, check the financial stability of the company by checking their ratings. You can get ratings from some insurer rating services for free at most public libraries.

    Review Your Contract Carefully
When you purchase long-term care insurance, your company should send you a policy. You should read the policy and make certain you understand its contents. If you have questions about your insurance policy, contact your insurance agent for clarification. If you still have questions, turn to your state insurance department or insurance counseling program.

    Associate of Arts

Courses in this program are taught by highly credentialed and experienced instructors, many who hold key positions in government agencies or other intelligence organizations.

Singapore ranked best place to live in Asia for expats: Mercer s survey

VIENNA: Singapore was ranked as the best place to live in Asia for expatriates and 25th best in the world in the 19th Quality of Living survey by consulting firm Mercer’s released on Tuesday (Mar 14).

Vienna, Austria’s grand capital on the Danube river, was ranked first for the eighth year in a row, while Baghdad is again considered the worst place to live.

Two Japanese cities, Tokyo and Kobe, were the next highest-ranked Asian cities after Singapore at 47th and 50th globally. Hong Kong came in at 71st place, Kuala Lumpur 86th, Shanghai 102nd, Bangkok 131st, Manila 135th and Jakarta 143rd.

The survey also includes a city infrastructure ranking that assesses each city’s supply of electricity, drinking water, telephone and mail services, and public transportation as well as traffic congestion and the range of international flights available from local airports. Singapore topped the list ahead of Frankfurt and Munich, while Baghdad and Port au Prince ranked last.

City infrastructure plays an important role when multinationals decide where to establish locations abroad and send expatriate workers, Mercer’s said in a press release.

“Easy access to transportation, reliable electricity, and drinkable water are all important considerations when determining hardship allowances based on differences between a given assignee’s home and host locations,” it said.

The survey of 231 cities helps companies and organisations determine compensation and hardship allowances for international staff. It uses dozens of criteria such as political stability, health care, education, crime, recreation and transport, according to its website.

Global centres London, Paris, Tokyo and New York City did not make the top 30, lagging behind most big German, Scandinavian, Canadian, New Zealand and Australian cities.

San Francisco, placed 29th, was the highest entry in the US. Top of the list in Africa was South Africa’s Durban at 87.

How do we shape a successful future? It takes vision, purpose and a plan. It also takes partnerships among Aurora Public Schools students, families, staff and our community.

Building on previous strategic efforts, APS began a new strategic planning process in 2014. To ensure that our new plan reflects the beliefs and goals of our community, we created a 14-member Strategic Planning Team to develop APS 2020: Shaping the Future. The team consisted of APS staff, Board members, parents, business leaders and community members. As part of the process, we collected feedback through multilingual discussions with APS students, parents, guardians, staff and community members and through online surveys. The APS Board of Education approved the new strategic plan on Jan. 20, 2015.

This strategic plan represents the diverse voices of our community. We will use this plan to guide everything we do to achieve our VISION: Every student shapes a successful future.

Our MISSION describes our purpose: In partnership with our community, we accelerate learning for all students to develop the knowledge, skills and character necessary to shape successful futures.

Cord Blood Banking: Deciding About Public or Private Donations

Cord blood banking can be a priceless investment.

After birth, your baby no longer needs the umbilical cord or placenta. But the blood that remains could be a lifesaver for a patient who needs it, including a member of your own family. That’s because this blood is rich with blood-forming stem cells. As with bone marrow transplants. these cells can be transplanted and help save the lives of patients with leukemia or other life-threatening diseases.

Should you consider donating your infant’s cord blood to a public bank? Or should you bank it for your own family’s use? Here is information that may help you decide.

What You Should Know About Public Cord Blood Banking

If you make a donation to a public cord blood bank, you can’t reserve it for your family, so it may not be available for your future use. Both the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) and American Medical Association (AMA) recommend public cord blood banking over private cord blood banking. Here’s why:

    • Public cord blood banking is free.
    • Public cord blood banking makes stem cells available to anyone who needs them.
    • Public cord blood donation will increase the number and diversity of cord blood units available for patients. Widespread donations by minorities will expand the available pool of minority cord blood units in the public system and make it easier for the following groups to find matches:
      • American Indians and Alaska Natives
      • Asians
      • African-Americans
      • Hispanics
      • Native Hawaiians and Pacific Islanders
      • People who are multiracial

If you choose to donate cord blood for public use, you should be aware that the blood will be tested for both genetic abnormalities and infectious diseases. If any are found, someone will notify you.

What You Should Know About Private Cord Blood Banking

The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologis ts (ACOG) neither recommends nor advises against co rd blood banking. But along with the AAP and AMA, it cautions parents about private cord blood banking. Here’s why:

    • Collection and storage costs at private cord blood banks are high.
    • Other effective treatments may be available that are less expensive.
    • The chance of privately banked cord blood being used by your child is extremely low.
    • Stem cell transplant using an individual’s own cord blood (called an autologous transplant) cannot be used for genetic disorders such as sickle cell disease and thalassemia, because the genetic mutations which cause these disorders are present in the baby’s cord blood. Other diseases that are treated with stem cell transplant, such as leukemia, may also already be present in a baby’s cord blood.

    Continued

Because of these limitations and the uncommon occurrence of the diseases treatable with stem cell transplant, there have been just more than 400 autologous cord blood transplants in United States in the last two decades. In contrast, more than 60,000 unrelated donor cord blood transplants have been performed worldwide.

In short, the AAP and the AMA recommend against storing cord blood as a form of “biological insurance ,” because the benefits are too remote to justify the costs.

Are there situations where private cord blood banking might make sense? Some parents choose to bank their child’s blood if they don’t know his or her medical background — for instance, if a parent was adopted or the child was conceived with a sperm or egg donor.

The AAP does recommend cord blood banking if an infant has a full sibling with a malignant or genetic condition treatable with cord blood transplantation. These conditions include.

Even so, a brother or a sister has only a 25% chance of being a perfect genetic match. Thus, a sibling may require a bone marrow or cord blood transplant from a unrelated donor.

The AMA also suggests considering private cord blood banking if there is a family history of malignant or genetic conditions that might benefit from cord blood stem cells. Keep in mind, however, that to find a suitable match for any type of transplant, 70% must look outside their family.

    What the Future Holds

No one knows how stem cells will be used in the future, but researchers hope that they may be used to treat many conditions, like Alzheimer’s. diabetes. heart failure. spinal cord damage, and other conditions.

It’s possible that storing your child’s cord blood cells now may be useful one day in combating these diseases. For now, these treatments are only theoretical. It’s also not clear if stem cells from cord blood — as opposed to stem cells from other sources — will be useful in these potential treatments.

No GRE scores are required for most students.

    Foregoing the GRE

In many cases, schools will waive the GRE for certain situations. For example, doctoral level students might be able to surpass this requirement simply because of their level of education. In the Masters in Public Health program, of course, this isn t an option. Usually, schools either require other elements of their students or simply use criteria beyond the GRE to grant admission to their MPH applicants. Some of the GRE waiver requirements will include things like:

    • High GPAs and grades in certain courses
    • High scores on other exams
    • Letters from school officials noting their good academic standing

In some cases, schools might just recommend students take the GRE without actually requiring it. Every program is different so you will have to explore your options and choose what works for your needs.

    Find Reputable Options

Accreditation does matter in getting your Masters in Public Health degree. Without it, you risk not getting the education that you deserve. While a lot of schools are starting to waive GRE requirements for their MPH students, you will need to be certain that you re doing what it takes to find a reputable program so that you can still get the training and education that will help move your career forward and give you a degree that you can use. GRE or not, quality is everything with an MPH degree.

    Harvard Kennedy School – Master in Public Policy #master #of #public #policy #programs

    Master in Public Policy

The Master in Public Policy (MPP) degree is a rigorous two-year program that prepares students both to understand complex problems and to craft concrete solutions. Through courses, exercises, and fieldwork students master an interdisciplinary conceptual toolkit that draws on the social sciences but is adapted for action. MPP candidates arrive at HKS committed to improving the world. They equip themselves to do so through broad-spectrum analytical competency. This defining feature of the MPP means intellectual honesty; a hunger for evidence; the capacity to extract answerable questions from the messy clutter of real-world public problems; familiarity with a wide range of analytic methods and the habit of picking the tool to fit the task.

The MPP Core curriculum features policy analysis, economics, management and leadership, empirical analysis, negotiation, ethics, and politics. The first year culminates in a Spring Policy Exercise that lets student teams try their hand at a real-world, real-time policy challenge. Most students spend the summer on a policy-oriented internship. The Policy Analysis Exercise —a client-driven, often team-based practicum—caps the second-year curriculum, in which students also pursue a range of electives at HKS and throughout Harvard.

Classes at the Harvard Kennedy School are taught by the case method, the more traditional lecture format, or a mixture of both. Students work together in small groups on projects and are aided by course assistants, teaching fellows, and faculty members in a collaborative and non-competitive working environment.

Prospective students interested in the MPP program are encouraged to review the prerequisites for academic and work experience prior to applying.

    Master of Public Policy (MPP)

Unlike other degree programs that cover a range of policy areas, the Heller School MPP focuses specifically on domestic social policy. This allows our students to dig into the social issues they’re most passionate about, because we believe that if you want to create systemic change, you need to think beyond the status quo.

The Heller MPP is a two-year program to develop the skill set that every policy analyst and social change agent needs to be successful. It starts by learning how to conduct sophisticated structural analysis. Students can choose to study in a specific social policy concentration, such as poverty alleviation or behavioral health, and everyone gains experience on the ground through funded internships.

We are a small community that s cooperative, not competitive. Our students, faculty and alumni have diverse social policy interests, but we all realize policy s potential to advance social justice change both locally and nationally. Heller MPP graduates get policy jobs around the United States, with one-third working in Boston, one-third in Washington, D.C. and the final third spread around the country.

Since AAUW s founding our members and supporters have spoken out about policies important to women and girls. Without their voices, invaluable legislation would have never been passed. In recent years, such legislation included the Family and Medical Leave Act, the Matthew Shepard and James Byrd Jr. Hate Crimes Prevention Act, and the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act.

AAUW s policy work connects and rallies advocates at the local, state, national, and global levels to advance our work to empower women and girls. With the member-endorsed Public Policy Program as our guide, AAUW uses lobbying and grassroots efforts to push forward policies that break through educational and economic barriers for women.

The AAUW Public Policy and Government Relations Department, with input from the member leaders of the AAUW Public Policy Committee, leads AAUW’s lobbying and grassroots efforts. Used Police Cars, We sell Police Government Vehicles and Used Cars Reconditioned such as Police Crown Victoria Interceptors and are for sale to the public, not a government vehicle or police car auction #italy #car #rental

    #police cars for sale
    #

We’re the only company in the country dedicated to designing and building a Crown Vic Interceptor to your desired look and taste. Mild to wild, just tell us what you want and we’ll make your dream come true.

We only sell the Crown Victoria Police Interceptor as no other used police vehicle comes anywhere close to the performance, safety, longevity and comfort that Ford builds into these impressive vehicles.

It’s no wonder that used policecars are highly sought after by security firms, detective agencies, bounty hunters and even police agencies when their budget does not allow for a new vehicle and they need a few more units. And yes, anyone can purchase a used P71 Interceptor for their personal use.

I am extremely proud of the Crown Victoria Police Interceptors that we offer here at Rich Troppoli Automotive Center. I have over 38 years of pleasing customers with unparalleled experience in the automotive industry.I have now directed all my efforts to the reconditioning and refurbishment of previously owned Police Interceptors. Every car we work on is a custom build. We don’t mass produce, but concentrate on each car, one at a time. Every car is different with different needs and all of those items, and then some, are dealt with by top ASE certified mechanics. Our bodymen are second to none in restoring the body back to new condition. The upholstery shop does undetectable work.We sweat the details like no other company, making sure the tiniest hole or slightest rip is repaired or replaced. Our bodies are straight and free of antenna holes and defects. We always replace all the lights to give the vehicle a new look. Everything on the exterior (and interior as needed) gets refinished, including the wheels and engine bay. The cars look new when we finish them. We’ve been told we look like a new Ford dealership! I personally get involved in each car before, during and after the process. All cars are given a 75 mile road test at all speeds when completed to make sure there are no defects.

I can say with confidence that no one on the web is putting as much into their used police cars as we are.

You can buy a used police car from us with the peace of mind that you are getting a road ready Interceptor that will give you 100 to 200 thousand more miles of service. We have delighted customers from all over the US who have ordered our vehicles over the phone only to call me on delivery to praise our work.

We work on a zero fail basis with each and every car.Nothing leaves here until it’s right and I’m 100% happy with it.

All of our Interceptors are sold on a custom order basis. We prefer not to keep an inventory as evryone wants their car to reflect their personal taste in color, options and overall look.

It starts with you picking out the year and miles and basic interior color. Then we discuss what color you want the vehicle and other options you may like to have. Once we have designed a car for you, we have the car brought into our facility fromВ  state or municipalВ auctions that we attend daily. Almost all cars come from theВ South or Mid West.В Then the car is reconditioned to your specs down to the last detail. Our way of doing business is gettingВ very popular with our customers who don’t want to “settle” for “car lot”, as is Interceptors

We are located in Central New Jersey and ship to all states at a discounted rate. All vehicle transport companiesВ are bonded and insured and seleccted by Rich Troppoli personally.

So if you are looking for a Crown Victoria Police Interceptor reconditioned by people with a passion for the car, look no further and call today!
