Addressing Problems After a Car Purchase

Lemon laws help protect you against dealers who sell bad cars.

Once you’ve made your decision (and your purchase), you need to know what to do if you have any problems with your new car. Most new cars come with some kind of warranty. You’ll be given the opportunity to purchase an extended warranty. Make sure you read the fine print. You may find that the extended warranty isn’t worth the price. If you purchase a used car, it may still be under the manufacturer warranty, or you will have the option of purchasing an extended warranty. Whatever kind of warranty you end up with, know what is covered and what isn’t. For instance, damage to the body of the car may be fixed free of charge under the warranty, but an automatic window that won’t go up or down may not.

If you feel that you have been sold a lemon or a bad car, you do have recourse. All states have lemon laws that pertain to new car purchases. These laws allow you to take action against a dealer for selling you a bad car. If you feel you have been cheated, find out what you can do about it. Visit this Web site. the Better Business Bureau Law Program.

When you are going to be making a large purchase, don’t leave anything to chance. The only way to improve your odds of getting the best deal possible is to know before you go. If you know what kind of car you want, what to expect to pay for it and what your rights are, you should have a positive car buying experience. So, do your homework and get ready to have fun on the open road!

How to Use Lemons to Fight Cancer

Introduction
Lemons. especially their peels, are an excellent source of terpenes such as d-limonene. The term terpene probably conjures up images of cleaning solvents, but while naturally occurring terpenes are actually used as alternative to synthetic terpenes in many natural cleaning products, the primary health benefits of terpenes revolve around some impressive anticancer effects – both in prevention and possibly treatment.

Background Data:
D-limonene and related terpenes have shown considerable benefits in animal studies against a wide number of cancers. Preliminary studies in humans are also showing promising results. For example, six individuals with advanced cancers were able to halt the progression of their cancer for periods of time ranging from six to twelve months while taking d-limonene.

New Data:
In a study conducted at the University of Arizona Cancer Center 43 women with newly diagnosed operable breast cancer electing to undergo lumpectomy (surgical excision) were given 2 grams of limonene daily for two to six weeks before surgery. Blood and breast tissue were collected to determine the level of d-limonene and its metabolites as well as changes in systemic and tissue biomarkers of breast cancer risk or carcinogenesis.

Results showed that d-limonene was found to preferentially concentrate in the breast tissue, reaching high tissue concentration (average = 41.3 μg/g tissue), whereas the major active circulating metabolite, perillic acid, did not concentrate in the breast tissue.

Results also showed that d-limonene supplementation resulted in a 22% reduction in the expression of tumor markers. Specifically, d-limonene reduced the expression of breast tumor cyclin D1.

Cyclin D1 is one of the frequently overexpressed proteins and one of the commonly amplified genes in breast cancer. The gene that leads to cyclin D1 formation is an estrogen-responsive gene. The overexpression of cyclin D1 occurs in more than half of invasive breast cancers. Recent evidence also shows that cyclin D1 interferes with the anti-cancer effect of tamoxifen in estrogen receptor-positive breast cancers potentially accounting for treatment failure with tamoxifen therapy.

The benefits seen with d-limonene in this study should be followed up in women with breast cancer who are expressing cyclin D1.

Commentary:
D-limonene is available as a dietary supplement, but it is easily obtained from the diet. In lemons the highest content of limonene is found in the peel and white spongy inner parts. A typical average-sized lemon has about 300 mg of d-limonene.

My feeling is that the best way to take advantage of the health benefits of lemons and achieve adequate d-limonene intake is by juicing them. But, since lemon juice is usually too sour on its own, I recommend mixing it with other juices. Fortunately, adding ½ or 1 whole lemon (complete with peel) is an excellent addition to just about any fresh fruit or vegetable juice including green vegetable juices.

If you are going to juice whole lemons, be sure to choose organic versions. If you can’t find organic lemons, soak or spray non-organic ones with a biodegradable wash, then rinse.

Other dietary sources of terpenes are other citrus fruits, berries, cherries, and volatile herbs such as peppermint, basil, thyme, and rosemary.

Lemon Cleanse
The imbalance of ones system might manifest as disease and start in the intestines, so it is a good idea to do a cleansing. We should be aware that one’s healing process must go much further including all levels of one’s existence – not only the physical. It is no coincidence that you arrived at this Web site. Here you will find a lot more in your search for health. Take your time. listen to your body and be conscious what you are doing, – you might also enjoy it, – but be aware, that the body is a very complicate system and it depends very much on your present condition, your history, your behavior, life style, attitude and other influences, in how far what you do for your health and healing, is really beneficial. It might be, that something that is good for one person, can have a negative effect on another. So in any case it is advisable, before you do any thing, that you consult a ‘health professional’. I have done those things described at my pages with success and benefit, but I can’t guarantee this for others. Whatever you do, this is your own risk and don’t make me responsible for any thing you have done and it didn’t work out well. Apart of this, the given information about the various ways of cleansing and fasting, are not discovered and described by me, but from other sources that are always mentioned. LEMON DRINK for your Master Cleanse
you need:
* 2 tablespoons FRESH squeezed lemon or lime juice (approx. 1/2 lemon)
* 2 tablespoons genuine organic maple syrup, Grade B (the darker the better)*
* 1/10 teaspoon (a small pinch!) cayenne pepper, gradually increase (the more
BTUs the better)
* 300 – 500 ccm (10-14 oz) pure water
In a 300ccm (10-ounce) glass (to allow for 227ccm and mixing room): 2 tablespoons fresh (and organic, if possible) lemon or lime juice (absolutely no canned or frozen juice). 2 tablespoons real (and organic, if possible) grade B or C maple syrup. (Don’t use Grade A maple syrup or maple-flavored syrup. They are over-refined, which means that they are mostly refined sugars and lack essential minerals.) A small pinch of cayenne pepper (to taste). Spring or purified water, between room temperature and medium hot (but not cold) fill to 1/4 liter (8 oz). Mix all the ingredients by thoroughly stirring or shaking, and drink. Or, in two 1 liter bottles: Juice of 3 lemons, divided equally between the two bottles (about 85ccm or 3 oz per bottle) An equal quantity of grade B or C maple syrup in each bottle (about 85 ccm or 3 oz per bottle) A pinch of cayenne in each bottle Spring or purified water (fill bottles to the top) Mix all the ingredients by thoroughly shaking; then drink throughout the day. Use fresh lemons or limes only, never canned or frozen lemon juice. Use organic and vine ripened when possible. Also, mix your lemonade fresh just before drinking. Don’t mix it up in the morning for the whole day. You can, however, squeeze your lemons in the morning and measure out the 2 tablespoons when needed.

* YL Clinic says you can use Agave instead of the maple syrup. Tom Woloshyn (who studied with Stanley Burroughs himself) disagrees. Clinic says if you have diabetes or hypoglycemia, use molasses. If you feel weak or have a sugar imbalance you can add a scoop of Power Meal. Or you can try Master Amino Acid Profile (MAP) for protein without any residuals or strain on the body.

SALT WATER FLUSH:
Drink an oral salt water enema upon arising. To do this, add 2 level teaspoons of uniodized sea salt to a quart of lukewarm water (the one-quart juice bottles in which most organic juices come work very well). Shake well, then drink the entire quart. It’s also good to massage the colon as well. Make sure you use uniodized sea salt; regular or iodized salt will not have the same beneficial effect. This oral enema will flush out your entire digestive tract and colon from top to bottom, usually within an hour, prompting you to eliminate several times, clearing out the plaque and debris from the walls, and the parasites that have been living there.

Lemonade Drink:
Drink the lemonade mix every 1 to 2 hours. Take no other food, but do be sure to drink plenty of purified water in addition to the lemonade drink. Drink as much of this lemonade as you want, but make sure that you drink at least twelve 1/4 liter (8 oz) glasses. The lemonade contains all the vitamins and minerals you need. This can be combined with supplements for colon cleansing such as Bentonite or Psyllium Seeds. You don’t have to start your fast on the morning of the first day. You can begin later in the day, even if you’ve already eaten. Once you begin, however, eat nothing more while you’re on the fast. It’s also a good idea to read Stanley Burrough’s book, The Master Cleanser. Note: Diabetics, refer to the special instructions on page 19 of The Master Cleanser.

Note: Bentonite is the only product known to remove plaque from the walls of the intestine and colon. The plaque in your stool will look like egg shells on the outside of the bentonite “gel.” Bentonite works most effectively when the colon is empty of food. It grabs the plaque which has been loosened by the lemon juice and the resting/fasting process. The salt water enema pushes out the bentonite gel and the plaque and debris that is stuck to it and in it. The salt water further cleanses the walls as it passes through, resulting in shiny clean walls.

Herbal Laxative:
Each evening you can drink an herbal laxative tea to help with elimination, do this right before bed time.

GOING OFF LEMONADE FAST
Burroughs recommends a minimum of 10 days on this. You can safely do 40 days or more.
First Day: Start with 4 oz. [1/8 liter] fresh squeezed orange juice mixed with 4 oz. water. If it goes well, drink several more 8 oz. [1/4 liter] glasses of fresh orange juice during the day. Sip slowly. Dilute with water if needed.
Second Day: Drink several 8 oz. [1/4 liter] glasses of orange juice during the day — with extra water, if needed.

In the evening make a vegetable broth (no canned soup). Use seasonal leafy and root vegetables such as: beets and beet tops, turnips and turnip greens, kale, carrots, onions, parsley, celery, potatoes, okra, one or two inds of legumes, squash, beans, a little salt, cayenne pepper and dehydrated vegetables or veg. powder may be added for flavor (no MSG or hydrolyzed protein).
Cook lightly. Drink the broth, eating only a few bites of the vegetables.
Third Day: Orange juice in the morning. At noon have some more soup with some of the vegetables. No meat, fish, eggs, bread, pastries, tea, milk, or coffee. For Dinner, have the vegetables in the soup.
Fourth Day: Orange juice or lemon and maple syrup in the morning. Fruits, vegetables, seeds, nuts for lunch. Salad or fruit for dinner.
Fifth Day: Eat normally but no junk food, dairy, tea, coffee, white flour or white rice, heavy animal proteins. If, after eating is resumed, distress or gas occurs, go back to the lemonade diet for a few days until the system is ready for food.

Used Car Lemon Law

California’s lemon law statute, the Song-Beverly Consumer Warranty Act, protects used cars in several different ways. First, all used automobiles that are purchased or leased from a California car dealership during the original manufacturer’s warranty period qualify for protection under the new car lemon law. So if you purchased a used car, truck, or SUV in the Golden State before it was either 3 years old or had 36,000 miles on the odometer (or if it otherwise is still covered under the original manufacturer’s warranty), then check this site’s California new car lemon law page to see if you are entitled to a lemon law buyback.

Used Automobiles Sold With a Dealer Warranty Are Covered Under the Used Car Lemon Law

Unlike some other states, in California used cars qualify for protection under the used car lemon law only if they are sold with a warranty. As stated above, if they are covered by the manufacturer’s warranty (which is typically 3 years/36,000 miles, but can be more for some manufacturers), then they may still qualify for coverage under the new car lemon law. If no manufacturer’s warranty came with the vehicle, then the dealer must have provided a warranty in order for the used car lemon law to apply.

Dealers’ warranties are typically limited to periods between 30 days to 3 months, but may be longer depending on the dealership. You can tell whether or not you received a dealer warranty by looking at the document called the Buyer’s Guide. Federal law mandates that Buyer’s Guides must be prominently displayed on used automobiles (usually in one of the windows) while they are being offered for sale. The Buyer’s Guide has two boxes on it, one labeled “Warranty” and the other “As Is.” If the warranty box is checked, then your vehicle came with a dealer warranty. Click here to see a sample Buyer’s Guide.

Keep reading this page to see how used car warranties protect you and to learn about the remedies you have if your used car turns out to be a lemon.

So-Called “Extended Warranties” Are Not Actually Warranties

Many consumers purchase so-called “extended warranties” with their used cars. Unfortunately however, for the purposes of the California lemon law these are not warranties at all, but “service contracts.” The California lemon law was designed to ensure that car dealerships and manufacturers honor the warranties that they offer on their goods. But “extended warranties” are not the dealer’s promise that the vehicle is in good condition; rather, they are a third party’s promise to repair the vehicle if it breaks down. So unfortunately, if your vehicle only came with an “extended warranty,” then you probably do not qualify for coverage under California’s used car lemon law.

The only known exception to this rule is service contracts that require you to take your used car back to the selling dealer so that it can perform all of the repairs. If your “extended warranty” requires that the selling dealer fix your vehicle whenever there is a problem, then you should to talk to an expert lemon law attorney to find out whether it qualifies as a warranty under California’s used car lemon law.

How the Used Car Lemon Law Protects You if You Received a Dealer Warranty

If the dealer provided a warranty with your used car, then you are protected in two significant ways. First, during the term of the warranty you are protected in much the same way as the new car lemon law for the parts and components covered by the warranty. Dealer warranties usually cover only certain parts and components, but if one of those components fails causing a substantial defect then the dealer must fix it within a reasonable number of attempts or offer you a lemon law buyback if it is unable to do so.

Second, for all used cars sold with a dealer warranty of any kind, California’s lemon law statute imposes an “implied warranty of merchantability.” The implied warranty of merchantability lasts for a minimum of 30 days. If the dealer’s warranty is longer than 30 days, then the implied warranty of merchantability lasts for same period of time as the dealer’s warranty.

So what good is the implied warranty of merchantability? The main benefit of the implied warranty of merchantability is that it is not limited to the specific parts and components covered by the dealer’s warranty. It covers the entire vehicle. That being said, it is a very basic warranty. It only requires that your used car provide you with reliable, safe transportation during the warranty period. It won’t cover a malfunctioning radio or sound system because that type of defect does not prevent your use of the vehicle. But if your vehicle’s door locks stop working (or if anything else goes wrong preventing your safe, reliable use of the vehicle) the implied warranty of merchantability gives you a right to obtain free repairs or a refund during the warranty period regardless of whether or not the locks are covered by the dealer’s warranty.

Under the implied warranty of merchantability, you can also avoid paying deductible and co-payments that might otherwise be required under the dealer’s warranty. For example, some dealers offer 30 day warranties on used car engines, but the warranties require that you pay 50% (or some other portion) of the parts and/or labor. But if your engine completely fails (or the implied warranty of merchantability is implicated in some other way), then the implied warranty of merchantability can force the dealer to provide repairs for free without any charge to you.

If you purchased a used car with a dealer warranty that turns out to be a lemon, you should call a qualified lemon law attorney to discuss your case, regardless of whether or not the defect is specifically covered by the dealer’s warranty. In spite of what the dealer is telling you, you may be entitled to free repairs or a full refund.
