    The University of Hartford is a fully accredited, private, co-educational institution with the main campus located on approximately 350 wooded acres in West Hartford, Connecticut. The University offers educational and career programs in 84 undergraduate majors and 34 graduate degrees at the masters and doctoral levels, in the liberal arts, sciences, business, engineering, technology, art, music, education and allied health professions.

    Part of the institution dates back to 1877, when the first of its original three schools was founded. The Hartford Art School (1877), Hillyer College (1879), and the Hartt School (1920) joined in 1957 to form the University of Hartford.     Since 1975, the Music Engineering Technology program at the University of Miami Frost School of Music has pioneered education in music and technology, setting the standard by which the National Association of Schools of Music (NASM) accredits other such programs around the United States. Alumni of the program have contributed significantly to the music and audio industries and upon graduation pursue careers ranging from recording to software design.

    The Music Engineering Technology program provides multidisciplinary four-year Bachelor of Music and Bachelor of Science degrees within a music school setting. All students learn the art and science of recording, mixing, and signal processing while pursuing traditional music studies in performance, history, and theory. In addition, their studies in electrical engineering and computer science provide them with elite technical skills.

    The Music Engineering Technology program offers a two-year Master of Science graduate degree for students who have completed an undergraduate degree in electrical engineering or computer science. Effective written, oral and graphic communications are practiced throughout the curriculum along with computer literacy. In addition to the core CET course work, you will choose a concentration in construction management, structural design or site development.

    Graduates of this program are eligible to take the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam, the first step to licensure as a professional engineer, in Virginia and many other states.
