19 Preschool Car Craft Ideas

I am not sure about you guys, but my kids love to play with cars.

They integrate them into so many play scenarios; like independent play, imaginary play, while playing with Legos and even while doing homeschool work.

Here is an awesome collection of 19 preschool car craft ideas that your kids will love.

There are ideas for re-purposing things you have around the house to make a toy car, ways to make it educational (like using a car track to teach a little one to spell his name), ways to discover texture and more!

These are perfect for homeschool families, weekend enrichment projects with Mom and Dad or for a unit study that is all about cars.

Car Trash Bag, car craft.#Car #craft

Car craft

I find that the car is never more cluttered than when filled with wrappers, empty drink bottles and waste from a summer road trip. I try to pick up all the trash I can when I can, but sometimes straw wrappers, bottle caps and food receipts literally take over.

Enter the car trash bag! The sturdy bag is built to carry odds and ends, so you can just fill it up and dump the contents when you stop to refuel. The trash bag is unlined (see note below if you d like to add a lining) with the interior covered in interfacing for durability. Simply toss the bag into the washing machine when it s ready to be cleaned.

1/2 yard home decor weight fabric (shown here in Joel Dewberry Heirloom)

Car craft

14 cut of medium-weight fusible interfacing (like Pellon 808)

Matching thread, iron, scissors, sewing machine and pins

Car craft

From both fabric and interfacing, cut two pieces 14 x 11 and remove a square 2.25 x 2.25 from bottom two corners of each piece. Adhere interfacing to lining with iron.

Car craft

From fabric, cut two pieces 11 x 6 for handle lining. Place one handle lining fabric on top of bag fabric, right sides facing. Use ruler to mark dots 2 from top of bag at the 3.5 and 7.5 marks. Move ruler down to 3 from top of bag and again mark dots at the 3.5 and 7.5 marks. Connect dots into a rectangle for bag handle.

Car craft

Pin pieces together and stitch on top of line to create handle. Use scissors to snip almost into the corners and down the center line through all layers of fabric.

Car craft

Now for the magic part. Push the handle lining fabric through the slot you just created and pull it through the other side. Press and pin handle lining flat against inside of tote. Secure with zig-zag stitch, and trim excess fabric away from handle lining (see below).

Attach handle to other side of bag.

Note: If you d like to make a lining for the bag, cut lining fabric in the same dimensions as your outer fabric, follow the same instructions to make handles and sew the lining, then refer to Tote Bag Tutorial for instructions on inserting your lining. Line up handles of outer and lining fabric and hand-stitch together.

Car craft

Next, pin bag front and back right sides together, avoiding the corners or the top of the bag. Stitch 1/4 from the edges along left and right sides of bag and bottom (center only, not corners yet).

Car craft

Pinch together the corners of your bag, so the seams on the bottom and sides of the bag line up. I like to iron my seams open.

Car craft

Pin together the matching edges and stitch 1/4 from edge. (You can see more photos of this method on our Tote Bag Tutorial).

Car craft

Turn bag right side out and push out corners. To finish top edge, use pinking shears or zig zag stitch along top edge to prevent fraying. Then fold top edge down so it lines up with handle cutout without being visible from the outside. Pin fold in place along top edge of bag, and use zig zag or straight stitch to fix top fold in place.

Car craft

And there you have it just grab your bag and go! The car trash bag also doubles as a reusable lunch bag in a pinch. Or, fill it with summer essentials like a snack and sunscreen for trips to the park, beach or playground.

Car craft

If you use this tutorial, we d love to see your bag in the Craft Buds Flickr pool. This post is part of the Summer Sewing Contest, so check out the blog hop for more projects inspired by the season and enter your own June 10-17 at at Ellison Lane Quilts for a chance to win prizes!

Even this old Grandpa has no problem using these labels to design and print his shipping labels. They have never jammed my printer either. If there was a category for Grandpa Friendly I would rate these labels _____ From one Grandpa to another, go ahead, give’em a try. They won’t let you down, not like that one son-in-law I have.

Ok, I just bought the 8168 AVERY Shipping Labels but the 8168 TALL template that I downloaded does not let you put text into it horizontally. The labels only go vertically, which is false advertising because the picture on the Avery package shows a shipping label going horizontally on a package. When I go into my page layout to flip it to make it horizontal, it doesn’t work at all. This was a complete waste of money.

This review is from White Internet Shipping Labels 5126 :

I use the 5126 labels to print shipping labels on a Brother HL-L234ODW laser printer. I only print one label at a time, so only half of the sheet is printed with each print job, and it may be a day or two before the other side is used. I re-insert the half-used page, turning it around for the next print job, but whenever I try to print on the other half the page ends up being smeared upon output. This is frustrating as I am basically trashing half of the labels simply because I don’t print a full page with each job. Any ideas how this can be fixed?

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Merchant response: We would recommend double-checking that the paper or media type settings in your printer options are set to print on labels or photo paper. The default setting, even on a compatible printer, may be feeding the sheet through too quickly for the toner to fully set in.

But also please call our consumer care center at (800) GO AVERY so that they can make sure that your pack was not defective. We should be able to replace this pack for you if the sheets were manufactured incorrectly.

This review is from White Shipping Labels 5168 :

The glue on these does not stock to anything. I own a small printing company and thought it would be great to print out custom labels for all shipments. But they literally fall off the shipping cartons and the proofing envelopes we UPS out. Not just once all the time. I was just at a clients and they had 10 boxes shipped to them and all the labels were peeled halfway off.

Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Merchant response: We’re sorry to hear that, if you get in touch with our consumer care center they should be able to check if you may have received a defective batch. We may be able to replace these labels for you as well. You can reach us by phone at (800) GO AVERY or through chat by using the Help section at the top of our site. We do apologize for any inconvenience and hopefully we can get this issue resolved for you soon!

    C is for car craft

Get out the scissors, crayons and glue and get ready to make a fun car craft and talk about the letter C. The letter C is one of the difficult letters for many preschoolers to grasp because it has both the S and K sounds. Today s project focuses on cars, and the kah sound of the letter C. You can use paint or markers instead of crayons if you d like and you can add extra embellishments if your preschooler if feeling extra artsy.

    C if for car craft

Supplies you need to make the C is for Car craft:

    • 1 Paper plate
    • 1 piece of cardstock or thick paper
    • Crayons
    • Glue
    • Scissors

How to make the C is for Car craft:

    1. Cut the paper plate to make a letter C
    2. Cut the paper to create a rectangle, we ve added a rounded edge to one corner for the car hood
    3. Using the remaining paper, cut two circles for wheels and two smaller circles for hubcaps
    4. Color each of the individual pieces
    5. Glue pieces in place as show in photo
