Rio Rhythmics ran a workshop for us linking Latin dance skills to Leadership. I wanted to say thank you very much. We received so much positive feedback from it that it really concluded our leadership workshop day on a high note. Initially I thought it would be a struggle as we had mostly senior male leaders in the room and the thought of them dancing with each other willingly was difficult to conceive. However you made it so much fun and all about leading and following that most of them forgot they were dancing with another man and just saw a human being that they were trying to communicate with. Your leadership analogies and examples were fabulous and made a lot of sense. We would definitely do this again.

Aurecon Brisbane Delivery Centre Manager

Dance As Leadership Training

“Music and dance have always been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. In 2009 I got my first taste of Latin dance at Rio Rhythmics. My experiences with Rio Rhythmics over the past years have been nothing but fantastic. The team at Rio’s has always nurtured, supported and guided the dancer within me and given me plenty of exciting and fun opportunities. I’m so proud and grateful to be a part of the team at Rio Rhythmics. Dancing isn’t just about being able to do the steps or having good technique or exercising to keep fit, it is about how it makes you feel inside and how you share your energy and emotions with those around you. Dance is a way to be heard without having to speak. Dancing has weaved itself into every aspect of my life and is one of the things closest to my heart. It is one of my true passions. A special thanks to Cathy Barker and Tarcisio for being such phenomenal role models and mentors. I have learnt so much from you both”. Archana Kishore

New opportunities await

It was such a privilege to be part of the Rio Rhythmics samba team and to finally perform at the West End carnival after years of watching it from the side! The team was so fun and friendly, I’ve got great memories of the performances and training sessions we did together! Cathy is not only a beautiful dancer but also a great teacher! She showed so much patience and kindness when I first joined the team. She taught me how to dance samba with my heart, from head to toes. )

I learnt to dance Samba with my heart!

“I started Latin dance in Mackay a few months before moving to Brisbane. Since I started at Rio Rhythmics my dancing has improved so well! Especially at the social dance nights every Friday and Saturday! Also I’ll add the staff and instructors are so welcoming. Always a happy smile from Toneya and Flavia at the desk! I won’t ever stop dancing!!

Learning Salsa/Bachata was on my bucket list. so I took the plunge and started classes at Rio Rhythmics.

After attending a few of the Saturday night dance parties, I decided I wanted to learn a few more styles,

so enrolled in Latin Starter. I think I’m addicted. The teachers are so supportive and encouraging, making learning a pleasure.

I was hooked! I signed up for another couple of classes – and a whole world started to open around me. The teachers all had different styles – but I was in awe of each and every one of them. I saw amazing people dance – and started to emulate their moves. My friends who started with me continued – Rio became family to me

Combined Plan Program Admissions #columbia #university #online #classes

Combined Plan Program Admissions

Students can apply for the Combined Plan program in their junior (3-2 program) or senior (4-2) year of undergraduate study. High school students do not apply until they are enrolled in an undergraduate institution, and should contact their prospective institution(s) for more information.

Students who attend affiliated liberal arts schools must meet the requirements listed below to earn guaranteed admission. Students that do not meet the requirements for guaranteed admission or do not attend an affiliated liberal arts school, may still apply.

To see if the Combined Plan program is for you, learn more about Engineering at Columbia and the Combined Plan Experience .

Requirements for Guaranteed Admission

Candidates who began at an affiliate school in fall 2011 or later :

  1. Full-time enrollment at an affiliated school for at least the past two years
  2. An overall and pre-engineering GPA of 3.30 or higher, as calculated by Columbia. Additionally, the minimum grade for each pre-engineering science or mathcourse must be a B (3.0) or better on the first attempt.
  3. Three favorable recommendations: one each from your institution s Combined Plan liaison, math instructor and science instructor
  4. Successful completion, by the end of the spring semester in which you are applying, of the specific prerequisite courses for your intended major as listed in the Pre-Combined Plan Curriculum Guide
  5. Completion (before entering Columbia) of the major and degree requirements prescribed by your home institution for graduation

Candidates who began at an affiliate school starting in fall 2016 :

The above requirements are the same with the updated articulation agreement from summer 2016, which includes new information about the Columbia policies that Combined Plan students are subject to once enrolled at Columbia. Please note a new exception, a three-year residency requirement at the affiliate institution, which can include time spent at a previous institution and/or study abroad opportunities. Additionally, applicants with 3.0 – 3.29 cumulative GPA are welcome to consider the program, although admission is not guaranteed.

In order to be eligible for guaranteed admission, applicants must meet the requirements from the Curriculum Guide that was issued in the fall semester they began college. Fall 2014. Fall 2015. Fall 2016 ].

Applicants must take all standardized test examinations no later than February 28, 2017 for consideration for the fall of 2017.

LPN Online 6 Week Classes #classes #online #for #nursing

LPN Online 6 Week Classes

Most LPN wants to take LPN courses online or to become LPN in 6 weeks. Is it possible to become LPN by taking 6 week classes? Not likely and here’s why.

Licensed practical nursing is a step closer to people who want to gain a degree in nursing. The reason people are much more willing to get a licensed practical nurse education than a registered nurse program is because it will only take a year to undergo which would give them the chance to work earlier; thinking they could go back to school later on to get a degree as registered nurse.

To be qualified for a LPN educational program you must have a decent GED score or a high school diploma. LPN classes include study anatomy, physiology, pediatrics, medical and surgical nursing, psychiatric nursing, administration of meds, basic nutrition and first aid training.

LPN classes include both in the class room study and clinical study. What does clinical study mean? It means you have to take at least 70+ hours of hands-on training, in side a real hospital setting and under supervision of a register nurse. As it is clearly stated, because of the clinical training factor, you cannot become LPN by taking classes online.

For CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant) who wants to become LPN, it s because you already had the clinical training, some of your credits may be transferred toward your LPN degree. Please know this. The CNA hands on training and LPN clinical training is vastly difference. For the most part, you may not have to take as many credit hours for the clinical study as other people. You have to check with the school admin to make sure. If you re a Medical assistant who would like to go back to school for LPN certification, you will also need to consult with your chosen school for additional curriculum if any to switch your career from MA to LPN.
LPN Academic Requirements.

Find LPN Schools Near You

Find LPN Schools Near You

After you graduate as LPN from an accredited university, you will need to pass the state exam which is called NCLEX PN exam.
Licensed practical nurses otherwise known as LVN (Licensed vocational nurse) in some states are focused on providing bedside care unlike registered nurses. Their task is more technical and their practice depends on what state they are in. Keep in mind that it is not enough that you obtain a license, but in order to become a good practical nurse, you must instill care for people and your patients per se. One has to be emotionally ready and observant to gain good decision-making skills.

The entire LPN courses from start to finish can span about one year and spread out at least three semesters. The cost of LPN tuition is around $4000.00. You may need to take hands-on training two days of the week at a local hospital and three days in the class rooms. The big question for all mothers who want to know if they can take LPN courses online? You may want to consult your school first and make sure their schedules can accommodate you before you sign on. From the way it looks, you may have to go to school full time. LPN online 6 week classes.

Online Hybrid MBA Courses #online #classes #at #uncc

Online Hybrid MBA Courses

Ranked as the #20 part-time MBA in the nation by Businessweek, UNC Charlotte’s MBA is designed with quality, flexibility, and accessibility in mind. With the increasing demands on students’ time, the Belk College MBA program is starting an exciting new option. MBA core classes are now offered in both a traditional, face-to-face format and in a hybrid online format. Hybrid classes are offered half face-to-face and half online. For students with robust travel schedules and busy lives, this option will allow students to attend core classes face-to-face every other week with online learning taking place the alternating week. This online hybrid format will give students the flexibility of online learning without losing the opportunity to engage with professors and network with classmates.

Benefits of the online hybrid MBA

  • Same opportunity to interact and engage with peers, professors, and community leaders.
  • Added flexibility to accommodate busy schedules while accomplishing the MBA.
  • Continue to work with the same faculty and curriculum.
  • Expand your network through classmates, professors, community leaders and alumni.
  • The online portion of the courses will enhance what is being learned in the classroom through activities such as discussion boards, online case studies, collaborative online projects, and research assignments.

Courses offered in the hybrid format:

  • MBAD 6112 The Economics of Business Decisions
  • MBAD 6131 Management Accounting
  • MBAD 6141 Operations Management
  • MBAD 6152 Financial Management
  • MBAD 6161 Human Behavior in Organizations
  • MBAD 6270 Marketing Management
  • MBAD 6194 Global Strategic Management

What is a hybrid course?
Hybrid courses blend the benefits of online learning—namely flexibility and the ability to learn at your own pace—with the benefits of in-person learning—networking, team building, and more. The Belk College of Business MBA hybrid core courses will have students meeting in the classroom every other week. For the online portion they can log onto the online components from anywhere in the world.

Why is the Belk College MBA Program offering hybrid classes?
In an effort to meet the needs of working professionals, the MBA program decided to offer at least one section of each core course in a hybrid format beginning in Fall 2016. Today, many individuals are unable to suspend the many demands of busy careers and family responsibilities to travel to campus for every class meeting in their pursuit of their degree. The transition to offering hybrid classes will help keep the MBA program relevant and competitive while extending the program’s reach to audiences that are seeking more flexibility and accessibility.

How are hybrid and online courses different?
Courses in the hybrid format will spend half of the class time in a face-to-face format in our Center City Building and half of the class time working online. While hybrid learning, sometimes called “blended learning,” mixes classroom and online instruction, courses in an online format strictly meet online with no face to face contact with the instructor.

Will I get done with my degree faster if I take hybrid courses?
Possibly – many of our students will find they are able to pick up an additional class due to the flexibility of the hybrid offerings. The hybrid courses meet in-person once every other week, providing students with extra time during the off weeks to take an additional class if desired.

Am I getting the same quality of education?
Yes. Hybrid courses are taught by the same professors who teach classes that meet 100% in-person. The courses cover the same material and professors ensure that the same high-level quality is being delivered in both formats.

Is it the same curriculum?
Yes. Hybrid courses cover the same material that is covered in the in-person classes. The expectations and quality are identical.

Is hybrid only offered for my core classes?
While there may be an occasional elective course offered in the hybrid format, only the core classes will be offered on a regular basis in the hybrid format.

Will this increase my tuition?
No. The Belk College of Business understands the value of a high-quality education without an exorbitant price tag, so hybrid courses will be offered at the same price as those classes that meet solely in-person, making them flexible and cost effective.

Will this make classes bigger?
No. While the hybrid option will attract additional students to the program, class sizes will continue to remain the same due to multiple sections. The Belk College of Business is committed to providing students with a classroom that values interaction and high-quality networking opportunities, so class sizes will not be expanded beyond what they are currently.

How do I find courses that are offered in the hybrid format?
When registering for courses via the class schedule search, please refer to the pull down menu for Subject and click on MBA. Then refer to the menu concerning Instruction Method. Within that menu are three designations: (1) All, (2) Face-to-Face Instruction, and (3) Hybrid: Face-to-face Online. Click the Hybrid selection and you will see the MBA hybrid courses offered for that term.

Who do I contact if I have any questions concerning hybrid courses?
You may contact Dr. Gary Kohut. Director of the MBA Program, or Corey Henderson. Associate Director of Graduate Student Services.
