Mr. Clean Autodry Carwash

Applicable to: ’90 – ’97 ’99-’05 ’06+ 1.6 liter 1.8 liter

Hose attachment with a built in water filter and soap dispenser

I first saw this at Pep Boys and decided to give it a shot. I bought the “Pro” series for the added “jet” setting of super strong water streams. The product works about as good as could be expected. The soap is, as stated by the manufacturer “very mild” and that about sums it up. I would recommend using a stronger soap, as the provided didnt get any dirt or leave residue off my car at all. It is very covenient in my opinion eliminating the need for a bucket off water and makes it very easy to douse the entire car in a soap froth for sponging down. The autodry setting is pretty cool and did admittingly leave virtually no spots, but it took a little practice to find the optimal way to achieve this result. Im not sure the price of the replacement filters but im sure they’re not too expensive

I would say if you’re a lazy SOB like me, this does make the job slightly more bearable, however at a price tag of $40 im not quite certain its totally worth it. The “jet” setting is pretty powerfull though, make a lot of other tasks other than carwashing easier though! i would give this product about 2 1/2 stars out of 5

A large hose end device that dispenses water, soap, and deionized rinse water. The soap is supposed to be a special type that sheets and, along with the soft water rinse, eliminates spots.

When used as intended, my experience is much the same as others. It does leave fewer spots than ordinary washing (without drying), but instead it leaves gray hazy streaks all over the car. However, with some changes it is quite useful. Do the following: 1. Take out the bottle of special soap. Carefully unscrew the lid, and pour it out. 2. Take a good quality car wash soap (I like Meguiars), fill the bottle 5% full. Then fill to 3/4 full with water and shake. 3. Put this solution in the device. It’s diluted so you can ignore the manufacturers clogging warnings. 4. Wash as per the directions that came with the Autodry, including the final rinse with filtered water. 5. Dry as you normally would. Admittedly this is no less work than normal, although if you use the soap sprayer to suds up your wash mitt, you don’t need a bucket. However the final result will have fewer and less noticeable spots where your drying was not totally thorough. Also, the! cost per wash just declined 50% since the soap cost is now pennies instead of 50 cents.

This product is a large, heavy plastic hose attachment for washing your car. You plug a Pur water filter into one compartment and fill another compartment with soap. There’s a large plastic knob with three settings, one for soaping, one for rinsing, and one for the de-ionized water rinse. There’s another plastic switch for turning the water on and off.

This product is supposed to allow you to wash your car and not have to hand dry it afterwards. The water is supposed to glide right off your car and air-dry without beading. Well, you know the old expression, If it sounds too good to be true. . Guys, DON’T throw away your towels and chamois. This thing does not work!

This does NOT work on chrome or metal pieces, it spots like crazy! This does not remove dirt from your car and leaves water spots all over the place. It comes with a small bottle of soap that is supposed to be enough for three car washes. I went through the whole bottle on one Miata! This thing went right back to the store for a refund. I used the refund to go get a REAL car wash. What a waste of time!

The Mr. Clean Autodry Carwash is _supposed_ to wash your car, using the same filter as a Purina Water system to deionize the water and not require you to dry the car, with the water just washing away like glass, leaving no spots.

The product is horrible! I received mine in the mail about a week ago and just got a chance to use it. Little to no dirt was removed, let alone water spots. I’m stuck washing my car again, and I’m out $20. Avoid this product at all costs.
