I have recently been going through a lot my car was damaged in a flooded area 0n 8/21/2013 which after along battle with my insurance company they finally deemed it a total loss the hard part about that was I was sin my last couple of months in nursing school with no way to get there so I decided to get a rental car which i really couldn t afford because of the lack of hrs on my job but what other choice did i have and I just want to say I am still in a rental car to this very day.

Anyway, my issue is with Direct general insurance. I recently went to purchase a car and everything was going great till I called to get my quote so I could purchase my insurance at the car dealer ship and leave that day with my car. Which was almost a month ago to my surprise. I was informed that I had a ticket on my license from 2011 (suspended license for no PIP coverage) which I had no idea about because I have always paid my insurance, never had a lapse or any cancellations.

So I was quoted $500 down payment and $300 a month for insurance that I cant afford. Mind you, I just had a policy with them and only paid $160 a month. So to my surprise I was unable to purchase my car hence the rental car situation. So I started my investigation from the clerk of court to the dmv and calling Tallahassee; whom informed me that the only way that i can get this MISTAKE off my record is to have the insurance company write a letter stating they sent the information in error.

So I HAVE BEEN ON THE PHONE WITH THEM FOR A MONTH AND I AM CONSTANTLY TOLD THAT no one in the entire company can write me a letter for their mistake. so I am unable to get affordable insurance any where this is causing me a hardship financially because I cant afford to keep paying almost $1000 a month for a rental car. and just the mere fact of having a negative driving record can be detrimental to me getting a home health job that I applied for because you do have to do a lot of driving.

It saddens me because I have been a customer with this company since 05 and I don t believe for a minute that there is nothing no one can do. IF THERE IS ANYBODY OUT THERE READING THIS THAT CAN TELL ME WHAT ELSE I CAN DO I WOULD GREATLY APPRECIATE THE ADVICE BECAUSE THESE PEOPLE ARE JUST PASSING ME AROUND AND NOT WANTING TO OWN UP TO THERE MISTAKE THANKS SO MUCH
