Want to scrap your car?

Car and Metal Recyclers (CMR) is a scrap yard based in Aldershot in Hampshire, southern England. Our services include scrap car collection, unwanted vehicle collection and vehicle scrapping along with a scrap metal weighbridge, scrap metal skip hire and lead acid battery disposal. As an Authorised Treatment Facility (ATF) approved by the Department for the Environment, we’re one of the south’s most well-regarded metal recyclers. Founded as a family business and remaining committed to family values, we are part of the UCS Group, which was established over 20 years ago and which also includes Aldershot Car Spares, Part Worn Tyre Warehouse and Repairable Vehicles Limited. We have state-of-the-art facilities and all our staff are highly trained. Our vehicle scrapping service ensures that we achieve the UK government standard of recycling 85% of the scrapped car, thus protecting the environment.

Why Scrap your car?

The most obvious reason, of course, is that its simply stopped working! If your cars no longer roadworthy and your garage mechanic has told you it’s not worth repairing, taking it off the road is the only responsible and safe thing to do. And if your car’s MOT or car tax has run out, or the insurance has lapsed but youre keeping it on the road, you’re risking more than life and limb you may receive a fine from the DVLA, points on your license or even be at risk of prosecution. When you pass on your unwanted car to us for vehicle scrapping, we will pay you the best price around and make sure that its disposed of in the most environmentally friendly way possible.

How do I scrap a car with Car and Metal Recyclers?

Your first step is to call us and ask for a quote. We pay the best prices for scrap cars and unwanted vehicles, so call us on 01252 333334 and we will offer you a great quote for your old car. Were open Monday to Friday 7.30am till 5.30pm, and Saturday 7.30am till 1pm, but you can contact us at any time by using our scrap car collection request form here and giving us a few details about your unwanted vehicle. Well need to know the registration, make and model and, if you have it, the mileage. Well get back to you by phone or email with a quote.

Will you collect my scrap car?

Wed be happy to. Our modern scrap car removal fleet of vehicles will normally collect unwanted cars from anywhere within a 25-mile radius of our scrap yard in Aldershot, Hampshire. Call us on 01252 333334 to ask for or accept a quote, and to arrange a convenient time and place for your car removal. We will usually collect your scrap car within 24 hours and take it to our Aldershot scrap yard, where we will dispose of it in accordance with the latest environmental legislation. If you prefer, we are happy for you to bring your unwanted vehicle directly to our Aldershot scrap yard. Either way, as soon as you hand over your scrap car, vehicle registration document (also called the log book or V5) and keys, we will pay your quoted price in cash. Well take care of the paperwork, too.

What’s this about paperwork?

We know you hate paperwork, so scrapping a car with Car and Metal Recyclers makes it easy. We will notify the DVLA of the vehicle scrapping, and they will update their records. We will give you an official Certificate of Destruction (CoD). This vital document proves that the vehicle has been destroyed and that you are no longer the registered owner. Scrap dealers with less integrity than Car and Metal Recyclers may neglect to give you a Certificate of Destruction, then go on to resell a potentially dangerous car, or use it in illegal activities. Without a CoD, you are still the registered owner and potentially liable. When Car and Metal Recyclers give you a Certificate of Destruction, it’s your guarantee that your scrap car has been recycled to the highest legal and environmental standards, and that you no longer hold responsibility for it.
