Thinking about buying your next vehicle?

Start your journey by entering a vehicle registration number. The check you choose will depend on if you are simply researching (Factsheet), shortlisting (Basic) or you intend to buy the vehicle (Comprehensive).

Our Comprehensive vehicle check helps to give you peace of mind when buying. We can tell you important information such as if the car has been stolen, written off, has a loan outstanding on it and much more.

Rest assured, we get data from trusted sources such as the Police, DVLA, plus finance and insurance firms. Our vital information and guidance can help you buy and drive with confidence.

Why should I do a vehicle check?

Hidden histories?

1 in 4 vehicles have a hidden history. Vehicle checks, also known as car reg checks or vehicle provenance checks, reveal details about a vehicle’s background that the seller might not know or not want to tell you.

Outstanding finance?

1 in 4 of the 30 million cars on UK roads have outstanding finance, also known as debt: HP, lease, PCP or bill of sale. They are usually owned by the finance company, not the driver, and can be repossessed. It is therefore vital to check the finance status.

Is a vehicle listed as stolen? This is probably our most valuable check because buying a stolen car is a nightmare. You will be stopped by the police and then left massively out of pocket when they seize ‘your’ new car.

Written off?

It is essential to establish if a car has been involved in a serious crash. Leaving the safety aspect aside, previous write-offs should generally cost a lot less than a like-for-like non-accident damaged vehicle.
