DEEP STATE: Trump Facing Seven Times More National Security Leaks Than Obama or Bush

President Trump has faced seven times more leaks during the first 126 days of his administration than the previous two administrations. That figure includes many leaks from the intelligence community that were aimed at embarrassing Trump but have damaged U.S. national security, according to a new Senate report.

Since President Trump assumed office, our nation has faced an unprecedented wave of potentially damaging leaks of information, said the report from the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee.

The report showed that the Trump administration faced 125 leaks potentially damaging to national security in 126 days a conservative estimate, it noted.

A more narrow search, confined to five major outlets, showed the Trump White House faced 62 leaks, compared to eight under the Obama administration, and nine under the George W. Bush administration.

Under President Trump’s predecessors, leaks of national security information were relatively rare, even with America’s vibrant free press, the report found.

The report warned that the leaks have real world consequences for national security and recommended that federal law enforcement officials investigate the leaks:

These leaks do not occur in a vacuum. They can, and do, have real world consequences for national security. To ensure the security of our country’s most sensitive information, federal law enforcement officials ought to thoroughly investigate leaks of potentially sensitive information flowing at an alarming rate.

The report also noted: All such revelations are potential violations of federal law, punishable by jail time.

Although a patchwork of laws exists to address leaks, the Espionage Act remains the primary law addressing them, the report said.

Violations of the Espionage Act are punishable by up to 10 years imprisonment, as are violations of a separate statute, 18 U.S.C. § 1030(a)(1), which prohibits the communication of classified information retrieved from a computer if the information could be used to the injury of the United States,’ it said.

The report noted that arguments often used to justify leaks that they are intended to bring light to potential illegality, unwise policies, or concerns about the president s temperament have no legal basis.

No accused leaker has ever been acquitted based on an argument that the public interest was so great that it justified a leak, the report said.

The report said a review of the sources cited in news reports containing those leaks indicates they are coming from across the government with some clearly from within the intelligence community.

The report concludes that the balance between a free press and national security is now under threat. The report concludes:

President Trump and his administration have faced apparent leaks on nearly a daily basis, potentially imperiling national security at a time of growing threats at home and abroad.

The commander-in-chief needs to be able to effectively manage U.S. security, intelligence operations and foreign relations without worrying that his most private meetings, calls and deliberations will be outed for the entire world to see.

As [national security lawyer Mark] Zaid concludes: One day history will judge the consequences of these actions.’

    Debit and Credit Card Skimming

    Nowadays, it is far more convenient to pay at gas stations with a speedpass. use Paypal for online purchases, and pay with plastic rather than holding wads of cash and pockets of loose change.

    But instead of now worrying about being mugged for cash, there is a technique to defraud you of your money that is more anonymous, sophisticated, and dangerous and all it takes is a device that can easily be purchased for $50 online.

    This type of fraud is known as card skimming and it involves swiping your debit or credit card through a card reader that has been illegitimately set up to record information from your card s magnetic stripe.

    After your information has been recorded, it is usually then sold to other scammers on the black market or converted into a counterfeit card and used to make fraudulent purchases.

    Because it is difficult to know when your card has been skimmed, you may not find out unless you review your financial statements or get a call from your card provider.

    How Does Card Skimming Work?

    Although card skimming techniques are becoming increasingly sophisticated, the methods are generally the same. Skimming devices are usually installed on machines like ATMs and handheld pinpads, but also come as standalone, portable versions that are small enough to fit inside your pocket.

    ATM Skimming

    One method of skimming involves fraudsters installing a faceplate over the card slot of any machine which accepts debit or credit cards. This is commonly referred to as ATM skimming, but it is also popular with other types of payment processing machines, such as those at gas stations and parking lots .

    The face plates installed on these machines usually contain hardware which reads your card s magnetic stripe before it enters into the original ATM card slot.

    Your PIN number is then either observed by a person shoulder surfing or by a hidden pinhole camera installed on the machine and pointed at the keypad. This is why it is a good idea to cover your keypad with your hand even when alone at an ATM machine.

    Fraudsters don t need to return to the ATM machine to extract the video and card information because many of these skimming devices also have wireless capabilities. Fraudsters can comfortably and anonymously sit in their car, hundreds of feet away, and retrieve the information wirelessly.

    Replacing or Modifying Pinpads

    Fraudsters, sometimes the family members of employees, often approach employees of a retail establishment and bribe them to assist in modifying or replacing an existing pinpad with a counterfeit one and installing cameras to record PIN numbers.

    Card information from the pinpads and the video is later retrieved by the dishonest employee and given back to the fraudster. The employee will usually share in the proceeds and receive a lump-sum payment or be paid on a per-card-skimmed basis.

    Some retail establishments, such as the office supplier Staples. have used locks on their debit pinpads to prevent fraudsters or dishonest employees from stealing and replacing them.

    Skimming Devices

    Because skimming using a handheld device can be extremely easy, many dishonest employees choose to operate alone. All an employee needs to do is wait until your attention is distracted to swipe your card from behind the counter.

    Skimming devices are readily available on the Internet from websites such as eBay for as little as $50. These devices are usually disguised under the name of a card reader because they can also serve legitimate purposes.

    Skimming at restaurants also happens frequently, especially since customers often leave their credit card for the server to pick up, process, and return a few minutes later. In these cases, a portable card reader is perfect because it is small enough to fit in the server s pockets or apron.

    A server may not even need a portable skimming device. Your credit card information can easily be written down or copied from a receipt.

    Protect Yourself from Card Skimming

    It is very difficult for victims to know how, when, and where their cards were skimmed. Your card s details may have been skimmed months or years prior to you discovering any fraudulent transactions on your statements.

    Although debit and credit card companies can often perform data mining to find which retail establishments multiple victims have commonly used their cards at, at that point, it is often too late for the victim.

    Card skimming may be sophisticated, but there are still some basic things you can do to protect yourself:

    • Cover your keypad. Always use your hand and body to cover your keypad when operating a handheld pinpad or a payment processing machine like an ATM even when alone. This will prevent shoulder surfers and pinhole cameras from observing your PIN number.
    • Watch your card. If you must hand your debit or credit card to an employee, don t take your eyes off of it. It only takes a second for your card to be swiped while you look the other way.
    • Pay up front. When eating at restaurants, ask to pay at the terminal instead of giving your credit card to a server for processing.
    • Review your statements. View your bank and card statements on a regular basis. Watch for suspicious charges.
    • Notify someone. If you spot a suspicious pinpad or payment processing machine, notify someone immediately. If you are using a bank s ATM and the bank is open, notify the bank manager. Otherwise, notify the local police.

    Get answers to the most common questions about becoming a Registered Nurse:

    The types of RN courses you’ll have to take depends on which program of study you choose. In an Associate Degree in Nursing, or ADN program, for instance, you’re typically required to have completed some prerequisites before you begin. Since it’s just a two-year program, you immediately start taking courses pertaining to registered nursing. In a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, or BSN program, on the other hand, your first two years mostly consist of meeting general education requirements. You declare your major and join the nursing school, and that’s when bona fide RN courses typically begin. Similarly, the colleges/universities that offer Master of Science in Nursing, or MSN, programs for people with undergraduate degrees in another discipline also require you to complete certain RN courses.

    ADN programs are offered by community colleges as well as universities. Some vocational schools offer diploma programs and ADN programs as well. Colleges and universities with schools of nursing offer BSN and MSN programs. Online versions of all of these options are available as well, and they are great options for working adults with busy schedules.

    That depends on the type of program you choose. Generally speaking, however, you can expect to study anatomy, physiology, and a wide range of healthcare-related topics in the classroom. You can also expect to complete clinical work at local hospitals and other facilities as a part of your training.

    In addition to learning about human anatomy and physiology, you will be introduced to the everyday work handled by RNs. You will be taught about medical ethics and how to communicate with and care for patients. You will also be introduced to common RN tools and equipment.

    Again, this depends on the type of program you choose. ADN and diploma programs are the most affordable. BSN programs cost more, but they open up advanced employment opportunities that often lead to higher pay. The same goes for MSN programs. It should be noted here that numerous scholarships, grants, and other types of financial aid are available and worth pursuing.

    For an ADN program, you’ll need a high school diploma or equivalent. You may have to complete a few prerequisite courses first, or you may have to complete a TEAS, or Test of Essential Academic Skills, to demonstrate your proficiency in various subjects. For a BSN program, you must meet the general admission requirements of the college or university that offers the program and that you choose. The college or university’s school of nursing may have additional requirements as well. The same goes for an MSN program.

    It takes around two years to complete an ADN program, about four years to complete a BSN program, and around two years to complete an MSN program. If you are already an RN with a diploma/ADN and want to do a BSN or an MSN, you can opt for schools that offer accelerated BSN/MSN or RN-to-BSN/RN-to-MSN programs for current RNs to advance your education.

    Whether you’re completing a diploma, an ADN, a BSN, or an MSN program, you can expect the coursework, exams, and clinical work to be rigorous. A lot of material must be covered in a limited period of time, so it is crucial to remain focused and diligent from beginning to end.

    After earning your diploma, ADN, BSN, or MSN, apply for your RN license and take the NCLEX-RN exam. In no time, you will receive your license and can start applying for jobs as an RN. Soon enough, you’ll be working as an RN, and your nursing career will be well underway.

    Experience has taught us that eating disorders, drug and alcohol addiction, mood disorders, and PTSD / trauma eventually destroy every aspect of a woman s being:

    Many women have questions about the roles of faith and spirituality in a Bible-centered or faith-based recovery program, a Christian rehab center or in Christian residential treatment centers.

    At Timberline Knolls, our individualized treatment includes faith and spiritual renewal for every woman. Each resident works with an expert team to chart her own unique path of recovery, and to heal her whole self from the inside out.

    Spirituality: The Root of Treatment and Recovery

    Residential treatment at Timberline Knolls provides spiritual nurturing to women of all beliefs and faith traditions including those with none at all.

    Spirituality is not an add-on or an optional part of treatment at Timberline Knolls.

    Each Timberline Knolls therapist and staff member understands they work with residents of all religious beliefs. Spiritual healing and empowerment are core parts of treatment for every resident, regardless of her faith and religious beliefs.

    Weekly Christian therapy groups include:

    Soul Making

    The goal of Soul Making is to understand recovery topics such as identity, shame, boundaries and forgiveness through the lens of the Christian faith. Scripture and other faith teachings are used to discover the Biblical viewpoint and God’s heart on these issues. Soul Making is referred to as a psycho-educational group; its goal is to increase knowledge and deepen faith.

    Sojourn

    Sojourn enables Christian residents to share personal experiences as well as receive insight and encouragement from one another. It’s a safe, non-judgmental environment where residents can talk about their belief, or lack of belief, in Him throughout their lives. Questions such as, “Where was God when I was being abused?” or “Does He really forgive me for what I’ve done?” are spoken, respected and addressed. Sojourn is referred to as a process group.

    Awakenings

    Awakenings is a Christian treatment group that’s part of our expressive therapy program. Awakenings helps residents see beyond themselves and connect with their heavenly father. Hands-on activities help wounded women and girls release to God their feelings of shame, inadequacy, guilt, anger, or rage. Art offers a non-verbal vehicle for them to express their adoration for the Lord, while music, song and worship enable residents to feel the presence of the Holy Spirit and receive God’s love.

    Informal Christian Groups

    Natural community forms among women following the Christian Treatment Path, regardless of whether they suffer with addiction to drugs or alcohol, trauma or PTSD, mood disorders or eating disorders. Both residents and staff contribute to this Christian community, which helps women keep their faith at the center of their treatment and recovery.

    Often, informal or private conversations inspire communal prayer led by residents, devotional groups or Bible studies on individual lodges. This Christian fellowship is a reminder that Christian women need each other in order to grow emotionally and spiritually, and to achieve a close relationship with God.

    Individualized Christian Treatment

    Christian-based therapy helps women of faith overcome emotional and spiritual obstacles that prevent them from experiencing God s purpose and plan for life.

    A Christian woman who seeks to enrich her treatment with a Biblical or faith-based emphasis can request that her treatment team include a Christian therapist. Christian therapists are licensed, full-time therapists whose clinical training also includes biblically based counseling.

    Our Christian therapists believe in the principles of the 12 steps. They also use biblical comparisons to 12 step recovery principles to help illustrate the role of faith in the recovery process.

    Each day begins with a daily devotional. The devotional brings together residents and staff on each lodge for common reflection on the purpose of the work they do.

    Many of our alumnae also elect to receive these daily devotionals by email once they’ve completed residential treatment at Timberline Knolls.

    Worship Services

    Staff supports residents following a Christian treatment path by helping them identify and attend church services that meet their needs. Weekly attendance at off-campus religious services not only allows residents to worship and reflect, but also to connect with the local Christian community.

    Sharing Faith Through Art

    Christian therapists work with art therapists to help women and teens explore their relationship with Christ through creative arts. The arts may also help women find new ways to express their devotion to Christian faith, and develop new confidence that they can share their beliefs with others in the recovering community.

    Experiencing God In Nature

    Women interact daily with Nature on our tranquil, 43-acre campus. No matter the season, the natural beauty of their environment helps Timberline Knolls residents experience God s distinct purpose in creation, and to consciously connect with Him.

    Staff arranges weekly volunteer activities, which allow Christian women to practice living Christ s message of service to the less fortunate in our community.

    We can use session state to save and store user data while the user browses your web app. We already know that in previous versions of ASP.NET we can store session as key value pairs like this: “Session[“Name”] = “Rajeesh Menoth”” and Implement this in an easy way.But in the latest version of ASP.NET or ASP.NET Core, we need to make a few configurations for accessing and enabling session state in the application. The main purpose session is maintaining user data in the browser’s memory because HTTP is a stateless protocol.

    We need to install the stable version of “Microsoft.AspNetCore.Session” from the Nuget Package Manager. Then only we can access session state in ASP.NET Core 1.1.

    • PHP

    • Java
      A powerful and flexible language created by Sun MicroSystems that can be used to create applets (a program that is executed from within another program) that run inside webpages as well as software applications.     Software languages

    Used for creating executable programs. Can create anything from simple console programs that print some text to the screen to entire operating systems. Vary greatly in terms of power and complexity.

    • C
      An advanced programming language used for software application development. Originally developed by Dennis Ritchie at Bell Labs in the 1970’s and designed to be a systems programming language but since then has proven itself to be able to be used for various software applications such as business programs, engineering programs, and even games. The UNIX operating system is written in C.
    • C++
      Descendant of the C language. The difference between the two languages is that C++ is object-oriented. C++ was developed by Bjarne Stroustrup at Bell Labs and is a very popular language for graphical applications.
    • Visual Basic
      A language developed by Microsoft based on the BASIC language. Visual Basic is used for creating Windows applications. The VBScript language (also developed by Microsoft) is based on Visual Basic.
    • Java
      A powerful and flexible language created by Sun MicroSystems that can be used to create applets (a program that is executed from within another program) that run inside webpages as well as software applications.     The different generations of languages

    There are currently five generations of computer programming languages. In each generation, the languages syntax has become easier to understand and more human-readable.

    • First generation languages (abbreviated as 1GL)
      Represent the very early, primitive computer languages that consisted entirely of 1’s and 0’s – the actual language that the computer understands (machine language).
    • Second generation languages (2GL)
      Represent a step up from from the first generation languages. Allow for the use of symbolic names instead of just numbers. Second generation languages are known as assembly languages. Code written in an assembly language is converted into machine language (1GL).
    • Third generation languages (3GL)
      With the languages introduced by the third generation of computer programming, words and commands (instead of just symbols and numbers) were being used. These languages therefore, had syntax that was much easier to understand. Third generation languages are known as “high level languages” and include C, C++, Java, and Javascript, among others.
    • Fourth generation languages (4GL)
      The syntax used in 4GL is very close to human language, an improvement from the previous generation of languages. 4GL languages are typically used to access databases and include SQL and ColdFusion, among others.
    • Fifth generation languages (5GL)
      Fifth generation languages are currently being used for neural networks. A nueral network is a form of artifical intelligence that attempts to imitate how the human mind works.

    Procedure-oriented programming

    A type of programming where a structured method of creating programs is used. With procedure-oriented programming, a problem is broken up into parts and each part is then broken up into further parts. All these parts are known as procedures. They are separate but work together when needed. A main program centrally controls them all.

    Some procedure-oriented languages are COBOL, FORTRAN, and C.

    Object oriented programming

    A type of programming where data types representing data structures are defined by the programmer as well as their properties and the things that can be done with them. With object-oriented programming, programmers can also create relationships between data structures and create new data types based on existing ones by having one data type inherit characteristics from another one.

    In object-oriented programming, data types defined by the programmer are called classes (templates for a real world object to be used in a program). For example, a programmer can create a data type that represents a car – a car class. This class can contain the properties of a car (color, model, year, etc.) and functions that specify what the car does (drive, reverse, stop, etc.)

    Some object-oriented languages include C++, Java, and PHP.

    The mission of the Psychology department is to facilitate student knowledge in the study of human behavior, prepare students for employment or further study in the field of psychology, and enhance interpersonal and intrapsychic knowledge.

    The Human Services curriculum, offered by the Department of Psychology, is a lower division two year course of study designed to train a student in one of two Options: Human Services Generalist or Drug/Alcohol Studies. The curriculum also serves as an introduction to the helping professions for students planning four year college degrees in Psychology, Human Services, Behavioral Science, Rehabilitation Counseling, Social Work, Health Science and Alcohol and Substance Abuse, and other majors. The Human Services Curriculum specifically trains paraprofessionals who are able to function in a wide variety of areas under professional supervision.

    Day, evening, weekend and online classes to meet your schedule. Our Human Services programs can be completed in less than 2 years or at a slower pace to accommodate your work or other life obligations.

    Unlike some programs, we prepare you to go directly into the workforce and/or to advance to a 4-year college as a Junior where you may earn a Bachelor’s or higher degree for even higher levels of employment.
